Katrina Kaif

One of eight siblings, Katrina was born on July 16, 1984, in Hong Kong, grew up in Hawaii and then moved to London.

She is born to a Kashmiri Muslim father and an English Anglican Christian mother.

At the young age of 14, she got modeling offers and started out by modeling for a jewelry campaign.

Filmmaker Kaizad Gustad discovered Katrina in London and gave her a part in his film Boom. Kaif soon moved permanently to Mumbai and was offered a number of modeling assignments.

She is learning Hindi and has also taken dance classes, to survive in Bollywood.

She was chosen as the face of the year for the Lakme India Fashion Week (2005) which made her very popular.

Films that did feature her usually had her voice dubbed over but this changed with ‘Namastey London’ in which she dubbed in her own voice.

Although she has been seeing Salman Khan for sometime now, she still refuses to talk about him in the media.

Jab We Met- Movie Review

Forget about the break up, forget about how odd they look as a couple. There’s no looking back, Jab We Met is all about how they met and fell in love and not how they split. It’s an out and out cute love story which you should not give a miss.

It’s a story of Aditya ( Shahid Kapur) who is going through a rough patch. His business hits rock bottom and the girl he loves is getting married. Unable to face the failures, Aditya decides to leave Mumbai and aimlessly boards a train, where he meets a very talkative and irritating girl Geet (Kareena Kapoor) and then starts a groovy journey from Mumbai to Bhatinda to Manali, gripping the viewers.

Aditya helps Geet elope from her house to meet her boyfriend in Manali, and he gets back to Mumbai and starts his business with a zest and is also successful in that. But the story takes a twist when Aditya finds out that Geet, betrayed by her boyfriend is staying alone in Shimla. So, he takes the responsiblity of getting her love life back to track.

How they realise their love for each other makes the finale.

It’s no mushy love story, it’s no college romance but fresh fun journey. The chemisty between Shahid and Kareena has clicked really well in the movie, that at a time you feel bad that they are no more a couple ( if the news of their break up is true)

It’s sceneic locations make the movie a treat to watch. Director has covered it well from breath taking views of Himachal Pradesh to vibrant colours of Punjab..Pritam’s music is quite catchy and melodious and in sync with the movie.

Kareena is at her best in the movie (oops! I haven’t watched ‘Omkara’ and ‘Dev’ and I think she was too loud in ‘Chameli’).. Shahid is very composed in this movie and has matured a lot as an actor.

Stongly recommended for this weekend.. Enjoy…this fresh saga of love…

Mamma mia: Aishwarya insecure of Bipasha!

As we all know that Aishwarya was approached by SIr Ben Kinglsey to play the role of Mumtaz Mahal for his film on Taj Mahal, and he will be playing Shah Jahan.. It is also known that Bipasha has been roped in to play her daughter in the movie.

The latest hot hot news is that Ash is not willing to share screen space with Bipasha in the movie. And the logic given by Mrs. Bachchan is that if she and Bipasha are not seen together on the screen, one doesn’t really see them as mother and daughter. Obviously, she sees Bipasha as a contemporary and does not want to be cast in the senior bracket.

Even in the past, not many lead actors are willing to play oldies. Remember, Preity Zinta in Krrish, she never shared space with her son Hrithik.

So Ash apparently had a word with Kingsley and made clear her objections. She is reported to have told him that while she does not mind playing the role of Bipasha’s mother, she will not share any screen space with her. So now Kingsley is in a fix as he has to make substantial changes in his script if he wants both the Indian beauties in the movie.

Story of Saawariya

Breakup with Kareens still hurts, says Shahid

Shahid Kapur is trying to put his life back together but feels pain over the end of his romance with Bbo.

As Kareena has finally spilled the beans, by confirming that she has broken up with Shahid in a famous newspaper, Shahid is just left heart broken.

He said it upsets him to see photographs of Kapoor with her new flame, well-known actor Saif Ali Khan.

“It will be dishonest to say that this doesn’t affect me. I am human, it hurts to see and read this all the time,” he said. “I guess I have no choice but to live and deal with it.”

Kapur said he wishes Kapoor happiness and is trying to move on.

“I hold nothing against anybody. If I do, it will pull me down and I’m not like that,” said Kapur. “I’ll cherish the good memories of that relationship and move on. That’s what I’m doing – looking at the positive side and trying to be happy.”

Kapur has acted in 10 movies, mainly romantic films, since his 2003 debut. His movie about arranged marriages “Vivaah” – last year was a box office hit.

He stars with Kareena Kapoor in a new love story that will hit the screens this week, titled “Jab We Met”
